NEXT #MAVERICKS TO WATCH::::EGBANE ELOHOR:::: I CREATE TIMELESS IMAGES STUNNING STORIES
MEET ME::::
I am an art enthusiast, driven by my love for arts in general and photography in particular. Photography for me is beyond a discipline. It is a passion and an expression of my being. I have a knack for taking great pictures that tell great stories. I believe great images are not as a result of happenstance, rather by a witty combination of creativity and an eye for details.
Having a stint at creative strategy sets me apart from my contemporaries. A Chemical Engineering graduate, photographer, creative strategist and a content developer, I am often asked 'what the link is' ? I don't hesitate to answer that “I am THE link”. My versatility allows me combine all these professions professionally. PORTFOLIO:::

Lots of wonderful things happen around us all the time, being able to to see is easy, but being able to capture that very moment is probably the hardest part. However it's a different ball game for Egbane.

How have you been able to overcome the fear of
rejection executing your idea?
Yes, I have. I think I have gone past that phase of my
life now. When I just ventured into the business of photography, I had a couple
of ideas running through my mind. I went to a couple of people who I thought
could help facilitate or bring my ideas into being but unfortunately did not
believe in my ideas, probably didn't think I was skilled enough but thank God
that is a thing of the past now.
•
What is your template for success? Do you believe
there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?
I have seen and read books on "How to become a
successful entrepreneur", "20 keys to success" bla bla
bla but unfortunately, I personally don't believe there is a magic formula to
being successful. Many roads lead to success. What works for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B
but of course there are underlying principles that guide business success. Some
factors you just cannot wish away. Like the place of integrity in business,
diligence, business ethics and so on.

What inspires your creativity and fuels your
drive to achieve your dreams.
I am defined by what I see and how I interpret visual
elements into surreal moments. Since 2006, I've been inspired by those who
share my love for photography. Capturing an image is a lot more than just the
click of a button. My experience and the desire to creatively tell stories is
what motivates me.

What is your favourite part of being an
Entrepreneur?
That part where I beat my clients' expectations of me - when i blow their minds. And of course that part when I am duly rewarded.
winks* ...you know what I mean.

Do you believe some ideas can’t be implemented
successfully in Nigeria?
Nigeria is a fertile ground for any business idea to be
implemented and thrive successfully. We have the right climate and I see
Nigeria as a virgin ground and the next business destination for any serious
minded investor(s) from anywhere around the globe. Therefore, I do not share
the thought that some ideas can't be implemented. Of course we'll always be challenged.
- What has been your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur?
Pricing. I thinks Africans generally
and Nigerians in particular do not value arts enough like our counterparts in
the western world. So most times there is a problem of underpricing. People
saying " Is it not just a picture". I hope someday we place more
values on works of art.
•
How well are you adapting to current trends in
your industry?
Photography like every other field
has evolved over time and will continue to evolve. I like to keep up with trends
by going online to see what’s new in the world of photography and see what my
counterparts are doing. I want to check out what new camera models are in the
market, new sets of strobes, fashion trends and trends in other areas that i
could adapt to my style of photography. One thing I always aspire to do is take
timeless images.
•
How did you raise funds, resources to run your
idea?
Of a truth, I started with nothing. I
mean nothing. I used to rent and at times borrow cameras from friend. As soon
as I get something upfront from a client I would set apart a portion for the purpose
of camera and lights rental. With time I was able to save up to get a camera
first, then other equipment followed. I am eternally indebted to friends who
would let me use their cameras. Mark Taiwo, Joe Ajayi and Sonny Peters in
particular.
