INTERVIEW WITH D'ARTISTE:::::::::
What is the most important thing you want your fans in Africa &the world to know about you?
The fact that i'm an African, High-life Musician and D'artiste
What was your Childhood dream? Has it changed?
Growing up as a child, we want to do many things and that was the case with me. But at a point. you just need to focus. I wanted to do a lot of things while i was much younger. For me at point in life, you have to be very focused. I just have so much love for music- I find myself always singing in my bathroom, car and just everywhere. I'm so free with music and that's a core part of me.
I took it serious when i was 15, decided this is what i want to do and i haven't stopped ever since then.
If you had the opportunity to go back in time, what would you do better?
That would be school because finance was a very big challenge for me. So now i'm planning to go back to school any moment from now because education is key.
Do you see yourself as a hero?
Yes i do. It's all about believing in yourself and actually starts with that. I'm here to stay, make history, and leave a legacy.
How did you overcome shyness and rejection starting off your music career?
I'm a very social person. When i had my masters, i get to associate myself with people from different mix of cultures, personalities, nationalities and it was not really hard to connect. My fans know that I'm very open and humble and i get so much love from them.
How did you get support and funds for your first album/song?
Interesting question.
I had to sacrifice even the little i earned to support my career. I remember i've always looked after myself from my childhood. I hustled, survived it and here I am today. And yes my family has been very supportive all along.
At 16, a friend of mine called me from South Africa to move relocate. He said i have a great talent and believes so much in me.
A big shoutout to DJ Waxxy. He was one of the biggest Dj in South Africa back then. He invited me on a couple of shows and got me to sign on B.A.D. Music. I remember he always said i should just be myself.
If you had to choose an item from your music studio, what will it be?
Yes! My keyboard. Keyboard to me is the music itself - My music box. I play the drums and keyboard so well. Expect a lot of sexy keys in my next hit.
What are your next plans for your music career?
Everything Is In Place now ..Travelling To SA any moment To shoot the video of my next hit single ...... working in progress!
What is your perspective on how Technology is shaping the Music Industry?
Technology has really shaped the industry expecially in nigeria with the help of Itunes,notjustok.com Linda ikeji and Nigerian music has cut across the border and still going places through the help of technology at least no more suffering for us again.unlike way back, when you drop a song people can't get your song but now everything is easy now like I said before with the help of technology.
We’d like you to share your thoughts on what we should expect from the African Music Industry in the next 5 years. And where do you see yourself by then?
In the next five years I see African music sitting on top and In next five years by the special Grace of God I see myself hitting the global stage in a very big way and winning a lots of Awards including the BET. Big Achievable Dreams (B.A.D) Music will finally have the world stage, with D'Artiste in pivot position.
